WIRIKUTA Botanical Park

The Wirikuta botanical park opened its doors in 2016 where Puerto Los Cabos honors the fascinating Huichol culture, Wirikuta as a sanctuary of desert and endemic plants hosts 70 thousand specimens of 95 different species from Mexico, South America and Africa gathered in large gardens, greenhouses and solariums.

Wirikuta’s mission is the conservation of natural habitat, the repopulation and recovery of native wild species, and to teach environmental sustainability in order to promote awareness of the native biosphere. As part of this mission research continues to find new ways to repopulate native species.

As a way to spread it’s educational message, Wirikuta is open to the public and features a weekly dinner and show that highlights the Huichol heritage.
